Saddle Up for Big Skies and Bold Experiences
Dubbed as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" this annual 10-day event in July features a spectacular rodeo, world-class grandstand shows and nostalgic fairground thrill rides.
Dating back to 1968, this was once the tallest building in Calgary. Now it offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the city, and the prairies, foothills and Rocky Mountains. There's a glass bottom floor where you can perch above the traffic below, and a revolving restaurant at the top.
Open Thursday through Sunday year-round (don't worry—it's all indoors!), the Calgary Farmers' Market draws more than 20,000 visitors each week. Here you'll find 70-plus vendors selling everything from fresh local produce and preserves to baked goods.
Canoe, kayak, or raft along this river that runs through the city. There are a number of places to rent these items, plus multiple launch spots along the river.
This 49-hectare park is right smack in the middle of the Bow River. The park hosts a number of festivals and performances throughout the year.
Bowness Park is one of Calgary's most popular parks. It features a shallow lagoon popular for paddle boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The park also also has a wading pool, boat rentals and a children's train ride.

Kensington is a vibrant neighbourhood located just north of downtown that's known for its trendy shops and independent businesses. Here you'll find everything from designer clothing to vinyl records to handmade soap.
